Ruoho Ruotsi returns with a third outing on the Defchild label. “Hmmm” sees RR picking up where his previous releases left off with this hypnotic minimal techno gem that combines spacey, textured synths with shuffling techy beats and a rich, dubby bassline. The “Gys Version” gives the cut a bit more techno trackiness, with some stellar new synth lines and reworked drum patterns that are the keys to this new mix. On the flip, Kristina’s mix of “Knocking Again” is another deep, dubby techno excursion, with a pulsing analog bassline joined by crisp beats and heavily dubbed synth chords, while a whispered vocal adds that little extra. All copies come in limited hand-screened covers too.
