Review

There is somebody, who’s really calling himself a “Popperschwein". But what is a “Popperschwein", for crying out loud? One could define it as somebody who celebrates pop music in a fanatic way. Pelle: “I was kind of socialized by music, when everybody proclaimed the 80’s as the decade of pop. This time kept sticking in my mind. Way back in school time it was like an honour for me when somebody called me a “Popperschwein". Anyway, pop music at that time was the ultimate."The inspiration for the track track “Heimat/zu Hause” was borrowed from the book of Ulf Poschardt with the title “DJ Culture".The author describes how minorities for the first time in their lives, find a real home on the dancefloor. And how kindred spirits spent their time together and nobody was looking/staring at them in a strange way. And to all this the “Popperschwein” can’t keep silent: He dances. Everybody knows Robert Smith. This is the guy who’s hair looks like a rat’s nest. But this guy also wrote songs… Fine…And now Pelle brings all this in today’s time without doing the mistake of just making a new cover version. “Elsbeth & Mr. Miyaki” is again one of these “I let you all scream” tracks. Guitars that destroy everything and the unavoidable prollo-baseline. Guess what, there are people who like this kind of stuff. Conclusion: Pelle can also also do it!
