Son of Catalonian jewellers and raised in Gracia’s neighbourhood, in Barcelona, Orio Benedet tarted to play records at the age of fourteen and shortly later started on production; first with the basic but effective TB-303’s emulator (Rebirth) until complete audio solutions and sequencers as Nuendo. Oriol is a Sound Technician, specialized in Production and Post- Production of audio and music for radio, movies and television. His influences go from Surgeon or Regis’ hard techno to minimal pop from the scene of Cologne. He is not stuck in one style since he likes to produce any kind of music; but his main style without a doubt is minimal-softechno.” Oriol Benedet recognizes his source of inspiration in the dynamic and stimulant atmosphere of Barcelona, actually its inherent in his tracks by sampling the city’s ambience sounds. On his first single he shows us two propositions. The first one, Genčtica, more melodic and signed with his influences in the last four years. The second, Biodegradable, is in the line of his futures releases, staying in one style but based in creative possibility’s of a Home Studio.
